Carnival Come Rain or Shine

Yes, it snowed this weekend and consequently our Backyard Carnival Bash has moved indoors. I am in the very core of me a procrastinator, so after our show yesterday, I BEGAN getting all the carnival games and prizes together, as well as all the party food, cleaning my house, etc., etc. And well in the midst of all the stress I forgot how to properly flip a cake and at approximately 12:30 I crumbled Averi's cake in a matter of minutes. Yes, the party was to start at 3pm. And after a few profane words left my mouth, David ran to the store and saved the day! See cake and party pics below!

Concession help from my sweet cousin Brandye and a real popcorn machine thanks to Megan!

The goodies! My sister thought the cake was a flag...nice huh!

She's 3!

I can't even believe it! She is amazing!

And 3 does sound mighty old, but she acts like she's a teenager much of the time.
This is her model-I'm too cool to smile pose.

So for the celebration, we started our day at the Bagel Cafe. A super nice older couple was sitting at our favorite table, the one right in front of the aquarium, and they were nice enough to offer up their seats because she kept saying, "But I want to sit there." So, we enjoyed our delicious blueberry bagel and coffee and Izzi and fish. It was quite a treat.

Then we attempted to buy big girl clip on earrings, but failed. So we moved on to one of our favorite spots...Unpluggits. Where she again pretty much avoided the camera as much as possible!

After that we went home for a bit of a rest. Then we went out on the town...
First bowling, our family birthday tradition. Then Chili's, Ave's favorite.
After dinner the fam came over for cupcakes...
pink with green icing per the birthday girl...and presents!

The bike she had to have, but has never ridden. And the groovy girl doll house we worked so hard on just to see the reaction on her face when we gave it to her...except she opened the garage door and said," Mommy, I think I found something." Which kinda blew it for us!
Over all, it was a great and happy birthday!

Dreams Do Come True

I am going to rewind a bit and attempt to catch up on all the posts I intended to write but never got to over the past month. Why? you might wonder. Because I am convinced they are so freakin interesting and I wouldn't want you to miss out! Here goes...
So the past two days have been amazing. First David gave me a wonderful gift shown below...
Yes, a new cigarette lighter for my car! Why did this make my dreams come true? A few months back I completely broke my lighter. Without this lighter, I cannot plug in my FM transmitter. Without this transmitter, no ipod. Without an ipod....need I say more!

So, now I have MUSIC!!! I get to hear my little lady say every single day, "Can we hear The Glory of God mama?" And that is pretty fantastic!

That's not all...oh no! There is more dream coming true going on in the Little house. Every year about this time I get the gardening itch. I want desperately to buy buy buy flowers and lots of them. However, I must keep the big picture in mind. The one that says, it would be better to pay off debt than to buy those flowers you so desperately want. And then wah lah...
My Granddad happened to have these extra flowers and so kindly gave them to me. What looks like a few, still makes me really happy!

One more dream and then, I'm through. In connection with the last dream of free flowers...I showed up at my Grandad's two days later only to see the Home Depot ad which contained a flower special! 4 inch pots 3 for $1! Seriously!!! And just the day before I got my electric bill which was $0.00 because I had over paid the month before. So in absolute enjoyment, I rushed to Home Depot at lunch and fulfilled a dream of my own....lots of flowers to be planted by Ave's birthday bash!!! So fun!

So keep right on dreaming all you dreamers!

Sewing Prohibits Blogging

Well, at least that is some of my excuse! And I will not carry on with the rest of them, all though they are quite good and legitimate. So in my time away, this is what's been going on...

The day after Thanksgiving shopping brought me this yummy delightful treat, Carmel Machiatto Biscotti, a gift from my sweet cousin Brandye. I even took pics of it to tell you how wonderful it was and then it took me 3 months to get them up!

Christmas!-Yes. That was last year, but at least we are finally past Halloween!

Birthday Parties-This is at Preston, one of Ave's classmates, 3rd Birthday! It was at OKC Gold and she had a blast!

Spero Project-What a wonderful thing! We, David, Averi, and I, have been hanging out with the OKC refugee community at their apartments, getting to know them, love them and help them! Mostly David is tutoring kids and I am working with the women to help them learn to make and sell products. I am so excited about the favor Jesus is giving us with them! They are beautiful people and cultures. Def. more news to come on this!

The Little Trunk-I officially have an Etsy and another blog. I am working on new projects, marketing material and a schedule of local craft shows! Our first one is March 28th!!!

And at present, Ave will be 3 in 11 days. I am busy party planning!

That is a brief update and now, I will try, once again, to be a blogger!

So Halloween...

Yes, it was nearly two weeks ago now, but I thought you might all be interested in seeing our little princess! With her prince!
And since our little stinker wouldn't pose appropriately for a picture, I snapped her while I could.

Don't you just love that face!
And as some of you might know, when she's done, she must see it to name it. It being her poop. Sometimes it is a carrot, a dinosaur, or a drop, but most always, when it comes, it comes with a name! A bit wierd, but I like that she is so unique.

We left the bathroom for Trunk or Treat at Chapel Hill. There we met Baylor and Brylen, two of her cousins. Baylor was not quite ready for show time...
But soon she was ready to get some CANDY!!! And they all made a hall and lived happily ever after!

Silence

I like silence. It is nice to sit and enjoy the silence. And sometimes as I am enjoying the silence, I forget. What is it I forget? Well, I forget that I have a two year old darling in the other room. I forget that silence to her means two things. What are those things?
1. Sleeping
2. Finding something mischievous to do and being really, really extremely quite so I don't get caught.

Let's just say she did NOT fall asleep. Oh no, her Daddy-O found her in this silent state with a marker (thankfully a dry erase, but still a marker) coloring on her belly, her new pajamas, her dresser, and her pillows.

Someday she may learn to enjoy the silence as I do, but until then, I must beware of quiet little girls!
